Dr Tetsuhiro Kidokoro is an Associate Professor of Physical Activity Epidemiology at Nippon Sport Science University and an Adjunct Senior Lecturer with the Alliance for Research in Exercise, Nutrition, and Activity (ARENA) at the University of South Australia. He obtained his MSc in Sport and Exercise Science from Loughborough University (UK) and his PhD in Education from Tokyo Gakugei University (Japan).
His research focuses on physical activity epidemiology, with particular emphasis on children’s physical fitness and health promotion. A key strength of his work lies in the use of Japan’s national fitness surveillance data to investigate long-term trends in youth physical fitness, with findings published in leading international journals.
Dr Kidokoro serves as an editorial board member for the Journal of Exercise Science and Fitness and Pediatric Exercise Science, and is a recipient of the Young Investigator Award from the European College of Sport Science.
