About The Speakers
Mr. Jiheng Xu
Mr Jiheng Xu, a master’s degree graduate from Beijing Sport University, has rapidly ascended to the forefront of the basketball analytics domain. He currently serves as the Analyst of the Chinese national men’s basketball team and holds a pivotal role as a key member in the K8 project which is an innovative basketball analytics initiative established by the Chinese Basketball Association. Mr. Xu further solidifies his expertise as the Senior Director of Basketball Analyst at Root Sports. His noteworthy achievements include contributing to the Chinese team’s Bronze medal at the recent 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games and a Silver medal at the 2022 Women’s Basketball World Cup.
Dr. Daniel Lee
Dr Lee earned his Bachelor, Master, and Doctoral degrees in Sports Science and Physical Education from the Department of Sports Science and Physical Education, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). Currently, Dr Lee is directly supervising the work of the Scientific Conditioning Centre, Sport Nutrition and Monitoring Centre, and Sport Psychology Centre, in order to provide science-based, athlete-centred support for elite training in HKSI. In addition, Dr Lee is responsible for coordinating the publication of HKSI’s scientific research papers and for the implementation of HKSI’s COVID-19 policy during the pandemic. In 2016-2022, he was a member of the Athletes Committee for the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (SF&OC). Before joining the senior management of the HKSI, Dr Lee taught in the Department of Sports Science and Physical Education in CUHK. He was a former full-time triathlete and represented Hong Kong at the 2004 Athens Olympics and the 2008 Beijing Olympics. He won medals at the 2006 Doha Asian Games, the 2008 Asian Beach Games, and the 2009 China National Games.
Dr. Korakot Charakorn
Dr Charakorn stands as a distinguished figure in the field of orthopaedic surgery and medical education. He currently serves as a clinical instructor in the Department of Orthopaedics at Phramongkutklao Hospital and College of Medicine in Bangkok, Thailand.
In addition to his role in education and clinical practice, Dr Charakorn is a valuable clinical consultant for The Paralympic Committee of Thailand (Thai NPC). His commitment extends to serving as the Chief Team Physician for the Thailand national team, where he played pivotal roles in major sporting events, including the 3rd Asian Para Games in Indonesia (2018), the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games in Japan (2021), and the upcoming 4th Asian Para Games in China (2023). Driven by a passion for orthopaedics and sports medicine, Dr. Charakorn continues to contribute significantly to both medical education and the well-being of athletes on the national stage.
